Poetics

Hey Hey!!
FIRST let me apologize that there have been no new posts in sooooo very long!! After camp was finished for March I ran around like a mad person trying to accomplish much and then I snuck away to Mexico for a week (poor Shelley, I know!)

BUT the March camp was AWESOME if you ask me!! For those of you were there, I would love to hear what you thought of the weekend! Drop me an email and let me know!!

Cory Brown, a past camp director, was teaching the campers  about Ephesians 6 this last camp. It talks about putting on the Armor of God. It was so cool - the oldest girls wanted to write a poem to help the younger kids understand it all! Chickahoo has let me share it with you - I thought you might appreciate it:

Satan's lies we've all felt
But we have God's truth in form of a belt.

Satan attacks our poor human heart
This keeps us and God far far apart.
We can be sure that God loves us
By putting on the armor of righteousness (pronounced righteous-nuss)

Its tough to share with our friends God's news,
But God brings us peace with his shoes.

If the Devil is attacking you in an open field,
Do not fear, take out your shield.
This shield is your faith, your belief,
It will protect you from that evil thief.

From believing in God we cannot take a vacation,
When with us we wear the helmet of salvation.

Do not leave the word of the Lord
So keep with you the mighty sword.

When we're tempted to be mean, lie or steal,
The outcome is horrible to feel.
There is a solution that is oh so real,
The armor of God will protect and heal.
