Well friends, it has been awhile. My apologies!

Let me start with the future! As we enter the cooler seasons of the year (which leaves my poor summer-loving soul rather saddened) we can look forward to continuing with our camp experience. We are having 6 Winter Weekends, which ya'll are invited to come and reunite at. Winter Weekends look much like summer CLTD but without the seaweed and with the chance to hang out with all the CLTD groups at once - it's pretty cool!
I emailed the flier out to all of you/your folks - if you did not receive it please let me know (I discovered a few I missed just today - sorry about that!). The weekends are:

October 28-30th
November 25-27th
January 27-29th
February 24-26th
March 30-April 1st
April 27-29th

Drop off on Friday is 7 pm and pick up on Sunday is 2 pm. PLEASE bring your bible, notebook and WARM CLOTHING. I know, I know it is sooooo far from cool to dress warm, but seriously, we will be outside and dressing warm is way cooler than frostbite and being totally uncomfortable outside. SO bring your WINTER jackets (no, a hoodie is NOT enough!), warm footwear, mitts, scarves, toques (after all, we are Canadian, eh?).

Your Winter Weekend leaders include:

Chelsea

Sam
Josh

Allan
Nikki (when she can make it with school and living so very far away!!)

And myself!

Keep this date open: December 16th. This will be the evening of our annual Christmas Banquet. More details will follow as they become available!

It has been a particularly difficult post-camp season out this way!
As most of you have heard we lost our new Camp Director suddenly on October 8, when he passed away suddenly from an enlarged heart, which caused him to have a heart attack.  His wife, Nancy, said, "How fitting, he was always known for having a big heart." Rob joined us for the last 10 days of camp this summer and began his role here mid September. Within a few weeks he had built a reputation of being a joy filled, passionate, hard working, loving leader who had the gift of celebrating & encouraging each individual whenever he saw them. We have had several people calling to offer condolences who had only ever met him once but had been so moved by the person he was.
We are blessed to have known him, even if his time with us was short. His passion and legacy will live on in the lives he touched.
And so we are once again looking for a new director! We will be continuing with all the planned winter/school year programing as normal.

Please do continue to pray for the camp. We stand firm on the strength of God and the support of our extended camp family and trust fully that God has great things in store for the future of Camp Chestermere!

I hope all is well! We miss you all and look forward to seeing everyone at camp! Please keep us updated in how things are. We are here for you guys - please let us know if there is anything we can do for you (we do love to go for coffee!).

Blessings, all.
