Hi ya, Hi ya!!
I am sitting here working on sessions for this weekend and I hopped on the blog to see if I had written on one of the subjects. I found all sorts of cool stuff that I posted in past years! I am not trying to toot my own horn here - there was much posted in the way of links, pictures and words from you guys there - even a short video from Eldon!! So next time your bored start at the beginning of this blog and get caught up!! You can also send me anything you would like posted: ideas, pictures, links, pieces of writing - whatever!
Since I am on here anyways, allow me to talk for a quick second about the fundraiser on April 16th! We are hosting an evening at Glenmore Christian Academy. Tickets cost $25 and will include a show by the Youth Singers of Calgary (their adult groups) and desert. This is a fundraiser and not just a camp event - we will be taking a free-will offering and selling tickets for raffles for various items of worth that have been donated for the event. What we are asking of you is to invite your folks, family members and others you think might want to give to this cause! We are trying to raise money to finish the new lodge - how cool is that going to be!! Without enough funds we will be able to finish the outside but then it will have to be locked up and sit waiting for enough money to complete it. With the money we have for it right now a mortgage would eat up too much on a monthly basis for us to be able to run. We are also asking you to PRAY because God works magic through our prayers!!
One last thing:
GET YOUR APPLICATIONS FOR THE SUMMER IN!!
Love and blessings to you all!!
See some of you TOMORROW!!

Winter Weekend!
Hi friends!
We've got another camp in a week! Are you registered?? If not please get in touch with Dianne ASAP and come and join in the action!
Next question: HAVE YOU APPLIED FOR SUMMER YET?? For most of you the answer to this question is "NO". Why not?? Don't leave it for last minute!! Waiting for your parents to do it for you? I am really hoping the answer to this one is also "NO!". Why not? Because you are old enough and responsible enough to do it, right? Of course right! ;) I believe in you!!
So far I have about three applications for Apprenticeship (and one accepted!!) and two for Mentorship! Sojourns have you beat! I have 9 applications in and 6 already accepted!
I want to throw a shout out to Lisa - I caught her show the other night (Sound of Music at CCS) and she was GREAT! The cast and crew put on a fabulous show (and Eden and I nearly died when the cast snuck in 'storm troopers'!).
As always, keep in touch and let us know if there is anything we can do for you! Remember that we are praying for you and are behind you cheering you on! Let us know if you wanna go for a cup of joe and chat about anything - good, bad or indifferent!!
I wanted to also mention the dress code for winter camp as we tend to forget about what we wear in the winter. Last weekend there were several people I needed to remind about clothes. Please take a read at the posting below.
Blessings to you all!!

Something to take a peek at
Greetings!
I recently started a new post called 'What I Learned Today'. Take a peek - I just posted some thoughts on what stands in our way as we consider salvation.
In the name of teaching you more about Jesus and His day here is a little info on the religious leaders of the day. They're mentioned in the post I am directing you to.

Sadducees A minority group in 1st-cent. CE Judaism. They were traditionalists in faith and practice. It was important in their eyes to be faithful to the terms of membership of the Jewish nation by observances of the written Law and participation in the Temple cult, but they held that this was compatible with submission to the Roman occupying power. They opposed armed conflict and preparations for it.
Pharisees One of the two great Jewish religious and political parties of the second commonwealth. Their opponents were the Sadducees, and it appears that the Sadducees gave them their name, perushim, (Hebrew for "separatists" or "deviants.")… The Pharisees upheld an interpretation of Judaism that was in opposition to the priestly Temple cult. They stressed faith in the one God; the divine revelation of the law both written and oral handed down by Moses through Joshua, the elders, and the prophets to the Pharisees; and eternal life and resurrection for those who keep the law. Pharisees insisted on the strict observance of Jewish law, which they began to codify. While in agreement on the broad outlines of Jewish law, the Pharisees encouraged debate on its fine points, and according to one view... They developed the synagogue as an alternative place of worship to the Temple, with a liturgy consisting of biblical and prophetic readings, and the repetition of the shma, the basic creed of Judaism. In addition, they supported the separation of the worldly and the spiritual spheres, ceding the former to the secular rulers.
At first the values of the Pharisees developed through their sectarian debates with the Sadducees; then they developed through internal, non-sectarian debates over the law as an adaptation to life without the Temple, and life in exile, and eventually, to a more limited degree, life in conflict with Christianity. These shifts mark the transformation of Pharasaic to Rabbinic Judaism.
Peace!
